About the Tracker
PABCO’s Legislative Committee & Board of Directors monitors legislation introduced in the Pennsylvania General Assembly with an eye on bills that impact the building code community. We are publishing the list of legislation from the current two-year legislative cyle. If you want to receive updates anytime a particular piece of legislation is voted on, PA General Assembly allow you to “subscribe” to bill activities on its website for free.
Depending on the level of impact (positive or negative), PABCO will communicate our positio to state legislators & staff and will activate the PABCO membership to wage a grassroots outreach effort to contact their elected officials.

Our law requires facilities that are licensed to sell consumer fireworks in PA to comply with the 2006 NFPA standard. Due to a landmark decision by the NFPA Standards Council that made major changes, the most recent 2022 NFPA standard no longer applies to retail sales, storage, or use of consumer fireworks by the general public. As such, this legislation seeks to repeal the requirement from our law, which will also eliminate the Dept of Ag to enforce a standard that is no longer applicable. |
