PABCO is sharing with you the following communication from PA DCED:
Please see the following link published recently in the Pennsylvania Bulletin:
As published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, the regulations for the industrialized (commercial modular) buildings goes into effect on February 22, 2023. Under these regulations, the commercial (modular) buildings are now treated identical as industrialized housing.
Each approved manufacturer will receive the Notice of Approval which signifies their approval to provide commercial buildings for placement into the Commonwealth of PA. They will also need to provide the Site Installation Checklist and all installation designs, just like the housing program.
Our contracted third-party evaluation and inspection agencies maintain ICC certification for commercial purposes, including accessibility.
I have provided the link to the regulations, (145.81, 145.82 and145.83) which provides the requirements for the local enforcement agencies, the issuance of the building permits and the issuance of the certificates of occupancy:
145.81, Responsibilities of local enforcement agencies:
145.82, Issuance of building permits:
145.83, Issuance of certificates of occupancy:
Our website will be updated in the near future to reflect this information as well as provide additional information. Once updated we will forward the link.
As always, should you have any questions, feel free to contact my office.
